Cameron wins Oak Point runoff election

Oak Point voters filled the final seat on the council Saturday, electing challenger Colleen Cameron.

Cameron received 182 votes, 54.3 percent, to incumbent Leslie Maynard’s 153, 45.7 percent.

Nearly 46 percent of the city’s voters turned out for the re-election, forced by the tie between the two candidates during the May 10 election.
