2006 LEHS grad dies following one-car wreck

A 2006 Little Elm High School graduate died Saturday from injuries sustained in a one-vehicle rollover on her way home from San Angelo.

Sarah Goodner, 19, was headed home Saturday morning with her sister Rebekah, 16, when their SUV overturned off U.S. Highway 67 near Talpa.

Sarah, who was ejected from the vehicle, was airlifted to Shannon Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead on arrival.

Rebekah was also treated at Shannon Medical Center for minor injuries.

Both were wearing their seatbelts.

Sarah was to attend Pikes Peak Community College in Colorado Springs, Co., this fall pursuing a teaching degree.

Services for Sarah will be held Friday, Aug. 3, 2007 at CrossRidge Church, 1701 Walker Lane, where she was a member. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., and services will follow at 3 p.m. with Pastor Scott Mills officiating.

She is survived by her parents, Stu and Lisa Goodner of Little Elm, sisters, Rebekah Elisabeth Goodner and Hannah Marie Goodner both of Little Elm, grandparents, Jack and Frieda Goodner of Hollister, Missouri, Joe and Linda Winters of Fountain Hills, Arizona and Tim and Barb Harn of Lake Forest, California; great grandparents, Effie Mae Goodner of San Angelo, Texas, Mena Winters of Ste. Genevieve, Missouri and Sophie Thomas of Lake Forest, California and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Sarah was preceded in death by a brother, Joshua David Goodner, and a sister, Jessica Danielle Goodner.

In lieu of flowers or cards, the family asks that donations be made to the Lobo Band Boosters in Sarah's name. Sarah was first chair trumpet, had numerous solos and most recently was tutoring beginning trumpet students. The Band Boosters can be reached at PO Box 153, Little Elm, Texas 75068.
