LEISD begins year with 5,271 students enrolled

Little Elm ISD started the fall semester Monday, with 5,271 enrolled.

The enrollment was up from 5,112 on the final day of classes in May and from 4,951 at the start of school last year.

Little Elm High School saw the largest increase, 130 students, putting that campus at 1,299, up from 1,169 in May.

Lakeside Junior High saw an increase of one student, up from 747 in May to 748 in August.

At the intermediate campuses, Brent saw an increase of 22 students, up from 403 to 425, while Powell was down 43 students, from 385 to 342.

At the elementary level, Chavez reached an enrollment of 718, up from 695 in May; Hackberry was up from 393 to 429; Lakeview increased 13 students, up from 586 to 599; and Zellars saw six new students, up from 479 to 485.

At the district's pre-K campus, King, enrollment was down from 256 to 226.
