News Notes: First Baptist Church invites youngsters to join Trailblazers in Vacation Bible School

First Baptist Church of Little Elm encourages area youth to join the Trailblazers as Vacation Bible School continues through Friday from 6:45 to 9 p.m. at the church.

The Trailblazers Vacation Bible School will include Bible stories, crafts, games, skits, snacks, singing and lots of fun and is open to children ages 4 through those who've just completed sixth grade. Best of all, organizers note, Trailblazers can be the start of an exciting journey following our faithful God. For further information, call 972-292-1953.

Little Elm's spring barbecue cook-off is set for this Saturday and Sunday, June 21-22, at Little Elm Park

Set-up may begin Saturday evening, with judging following on Sunday. Barbecue must be cooked at Little Elm Park.

Two divisions will be judged, brisket and ribs. The entry fee is $20.

Judging for brisket will be conducted at 1 p.m.

Sunday, followed by ribs at 2. Plaques will be presented for first through third places. For more information contact Doug Cravey at 972-741-7395.
